Meet Norma Boyd, an insurance professional for over 40 years. She’s an essential to McGowan Insurance Group with the portfolio to prove it. Norma began her insurance career with stints at The Hartford Insurance Company and Travelers Insurance. With both companies, she designed association programs from scratch, plus operated and managed existing ones. Norma is a Commercial Producer, specializing in Health Care and Not-for-Profit accounts, seeing that involvement as a way to give back to the community. She is a member of IHHAC and on the education committee for INALA.
Norma graduated from Butler University with an undergraduate in Music Education and a minor in Business. After teaching at Noblesville High School and Conner Elementary for five years, she switched gears and completed her MBA from Butler University. From there she seamlessly moved into the insurance industry. A career change that benefits the company day in and day out, Norma has been a fundamental and important pillar within the structure of McGowan.
Outside of work, Norma continues to stay involved in the industry and community. She is on the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana Convention Committee and volunteers for several organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Project Will, Autism Society of Indiana and Venture Christian Church, just to name a few.
